Vertical Kingdom is set in a world ravaged by war. After a generation-long conflict, the once-great Empire lies in ruins, and all eyes are now on the Great Architect to rebuild its former glory brick by brick. Players wander through the rubble, embark on random roguelite expeditions, and build new cities with an entirely new card-based construction system, intertwined with a resource economy.

The Foundation of the Game

In “Vertical Kingdom,” your goal is to rebuild the Empire not through force of arms or cunning politics, but through brick and mortar. Each turn, you select cards from five decks to build your cities upwards, towards the heavens. You manage resources like food, water, bricks, wood, stone, and metal to make room for your city’s growth and play new cards.
