MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Marvel Heroes Enter a New 4v4 Fighting Arena

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls brings iconic Marvel heroes and villains into a fast-paced, visually striking fighting experience built around 4v4 team battles. Developed through a collaboration between PlayStation Studios, Marvel Games, and Arc System Works, the game takes a different approach from traditional one-on-one fighters by placing team composition, character synergy, and coordinated attacks at the center of every match.

Players build a team of four Marvel characters and experiment with combinations that can create new combos, unique strategies, and powerful offensive opportunities. The game is not simply about choosing four strong fighters. Understanding how their abilities work together and knowing when to bring teammates into the action can be just as important as mastering individual characters.

The launch roster will include 20 playable Marvel characters. Heroes and villains such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Storm, Wolverine, Magneto, Ms. Marvel, and Ghost Rider have been redesigned in a bold anime-inspired style. Every fighter has a distinct move set and combat identity, allowing the same team to play very differently depending on the player’s strategy.

One of the game’s most promising features is its balance between accessibility and depth. Adjustable controls, quick inputs, and easy chain combos make it easier for newcomers to enter the genre. At the same time, advanced team combinations, character switching, and more complex combo routes provide plenty of room for experienced players to improve.

Matches take place across dynamic stages inspired by locations from the Marvel Universe. Some arenas include interactive transitions that make battles feel larger and more cinematic. Arc System Works’ signature presentation combines comic-book energy with expressive anime visuals, colorful effects, and spectacular special attacks.

Release Date

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game is also optimized for PS5 Pro. Depending on the region and time zone, the release date may appear as August 7.

Pre-Order Editions and Bonuses

Several editions are available for pre-order. The Standard Edition includes the base game, while the Digital Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition add extra characters, cosmetics, and post-launch content.

Pre-ordering any edition includes the Infinity Gauntlet lobby equipment, Baby Groot lobby companion, and the Cosmic Surfboard lobby ride.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Year 1 Character & Stage Pass, featuring four post-launch characters and one additional stage, along with the Howard the Duck lobby avatar and Cosmo lobby companion.
